PHILIP ASPDEN

VERSE:

 

Vincent Van Goanna really loves to draw

with brightly coloured  crayon held tightly in his paw

he draws upon the paper bark, then holds out his thumb

turns around and draws again upon the scribbly gum

he scribbles red, then some blue, then the softest grey

he turns around and twists his tail

then you’ll hear him say

“ I love to draw upon the bark, especially with yellow

from morning light until the night, I am a happy fellow

I love to paint with colours bright

purples best I think

the greenest green you’ve ever seen

then some glowing pink

I’d love to paint a moonbeam and brush a shining star

I can’t you see, it saddens me

my brush wont reach that far.
